Accepting Your Doctor's Invitation to Spruce

Instructions for patients who have been invited to use Spruce by their provider on how to accept the invite and create an account.

If you are a patient and your doctor has invited you to communicate over Spruce, that's great! We're excited to get you set up on the Spruce app.

Your doctor can invite you to join Spruce in three ways: by text message, email, or with their practice link. This article will walk you through the steps for each invitation type.

If you haven't received an invitation from your doctor or are still having issues after reading this article, you may find the answers you need in this article: Troubleshooting Creating an Account for Patients

Option 1: You received an invitation via text message

If your doctor sent you an invitation to join Spruce over text message, you can accept that invitation by following the 'spruce.care' link in the text message.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the text message and click the spruce.care link to accept the invite. (You may have to tap the link twice.)
  2. Your mobile phone's internet browser will open. Tap 'Get the App & Connect'.
  3. Your app store will open. Download the 'Spruce – Care Messenger' app.
  4. Once download is complete, open the Spruce app on your phone, and tap 'Continue' when prompted.
  5. Select 'Create a new account', and enter your personal cell phone number. You will receive a verification code via text message. On the next screen, enter that code, click next, and enter your demographic information to complete your setup.

Option 2: You received an invitation via email

If your doctor sent you an invitation to join Spruce over email, you can accept that invitation by clicking the button in the email.
