Patient Profiles

Introduction to Patient Profiles

Every conversation in Spruce has an attached Patient Profile where you can fill in demographic information and notes about the person with whom you are communicating.

This helps provide context about your patient within the conversation. It also gives you more context when answering a phone call; when a conversation has a name, that name will be announced when you pick up, rather than just a phone number (learn more in Making and Receiving Calls).

Editing a Patient Profile from the web

When you receive a phone call or a text message from a number that you have not previously communicated with in Spruce, a new conversation will be created in your inbox. This conversation will be identified by the person's phone number.

To edit the Patient Profile from the web, follow these steps:

1
Select a conversation to open it.
2
Select the Person Icon in the top right corner of the conversation. This will open the Patient Profile.
3
Select Edit to open the Profile Editor. Enter the relevant demographic information and notes for the patient.
4
Select Save on each section that you edit.

Editing a Patient Profile from the mobile app

Note for patients

Patient profiles can only be edited by providers using Spruce. In order to preserve accuracy of medical records, patient profiles cannot be edited by patients in the Spruce app. If you are a patient, and your demographic or contact information has changed, please contact your provider to request that they update their records.
