International calling on Spruce
Spruce makes it easy to manage both domestic and international calls. Here’s how international calling works on the Spruce platform:
Inbound International Calls
Incoming calls from international numbers function just like domestic calls on the Spruce application. You can answer and manage these calls without any difference in experience.
Outbound International Calls
Outbound international calling on Spruce is available for specific regions that are part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). This plan includes countries that use 10-digit phone numbers with the +1 country code. Below is the list of supported countries you can call using a Spruce number:
- United States/Canada (+1)
- Puerto Rico (+1-787, 1-939)
- Jamaica (+1-876)
- Trinidad and Tobago (+1-868)
- Turks and Caicos Islands (+1-649)
- Virgin Islands, U.S. (+1-340)
At this time, Spruce does not support outbound calls to countries outside of this list.
Using Spruce While Traveling Internationally
Spruce allows you to stay connected to your U.S. number, no matter where you are. If you’re traveling internationally with your U.S. mobile phone, Spruce can continue forwarding calls to your device seamlessly. As long as you have a strong internet connection, you’ll still be able to use the Spruce app to manage secure messages, SMS texts, and voicemails, no matter your location.
Patient App Requirements
For patients to download and use the Spruce app for secure messaging and video calls, they must meet the following requirements:
- Have a 10-digit phone number.
- Use a mobile device connected to either the U.S. or Canadian app store (available for both iPhone and Android).
