T53W
There are two options to connect your T53W to the internet. You can either connect it via Ethernet (recommended) or WiFi. Below are the steps for each option:
Option 1: Hardwire your phone through the Ethernet (Recommended)
Using the supplied Ethernet cable, connect your phone to either a live Ethernet jack OR directly to your modem/router. On the bottom of the phone, connect the Ethernet cable to the port labeled “Internet”. If you only have one Ethernet cable available and it’s connected to your PC, you can connect the Ethernet cable into the port labeled “Internet” and connect another Ethernet cable into the port labeled “PC”. The other end can be plugged into your computer for internet connectivity.
Option 2: Connect your phone to WiFi
To connect your phone to WiFi, do the following:
- Press 'Menu', then select 'Settings'
- Select 'Basic Settings', then scroll down to select 'Wi-Fi'
- Set Wi-Fi to “On” and press Save
- Go to XX Available Networks(s), select the appropriate Network and press Connect
- Enter the Wi-Fi network’s password. For alpha-numeric and special character passwords, press the “ABC” soft-key and change to “2aB”
- Special characters can be access by pressing the "*" key
*Hint: Go to Show password and set to Enable to make it easier to see what you are entering
Once the password is entered and you are connected, press the “Back” key until you get back to the Home screen. If successfully connected, the date and time should update to the correct/current date and time, and you should see a telephone icon in the top left corner next to your extension.
T31G
There is only one option for connecting your T31G to the internet, as it has to be connected to an Ethernet cable.
W73P / W73H
The W73P is the cordless Yealink option. It comes with a W70B base and a W73H handset. Additional W73H handsets can be purchased and paired with the base. You can have up to 10 total connected at one time.
The W70B base will need to be connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable plugged into a live Ethernet jack OR directly to your modem/router. However, you have a range of 500 feet (approx.) between the base and the handsets.
There is only one Ethernet port on the back of the W70B so the setup should be straightforward.
The W73P, as mentioned, will come with the W70B base as well as a W73H handset. Since it is sold as a system, the handset will already be paired. However, additional W73H handsets will need to be paired.
To pair a new handset:
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the base until the top green LED light begins flashing. This indicates that the base is in “pairing” mode
- Press the Reg button on the unpaired handset
The handset should begin searching for the base. Once found it will begin pairing and once paired, it will show as successfully subscribed on the screen:
Reset Procedures
Every so often, you will need to perform a factory reset on the devices. This isn’t very common and is normally done at the direction of Spruce Support to help with a connectivity issue. To perform a factory reset on the T53W or T31G, you will simply press and hold the OK button for 7-10 seconds. You will then get a warning to “Reset to factory settings”. Press the OK button to continue.
To perform a factory reset on the W73P, go to Settings >> System Settings >> Base Reset (PIN will be 0000).
