IN THIS ARTICLE
Spruce Health supports an extensive array of Yealink devices; however, we recommend our three pre-configured options for the most streamlined setup: the T31G, T44W, and W73P. All hardware ordered through Spruce is backed by a one-year warranty to ensure reliable performance for your practice.
For all other devices, you will need to order it from another vendor and share the following details with us:
- MAC address
- Serial number
- Preferred phone number
- Name for the phone line
For the first two, you can just send us a photo in the Team Spruce chat.
Finding the Right Fit for Your Practice
This article is designed to help you pick the right hardware for your practice. While you may choose a single model for your entire office, some practices find success in a "mix and match" approach. Either way, we support both options. To determine which configuration best serves your team, please consider the following environmental and operational factors:
- Infrastructure: Do you have active Ethernet jacks available at each desired phone location, or do you require Wi-Fi-capable hardware?
- Visual Interface: Would your staff benefit from a high-resolution color display?
- Mobility Requirements: Does your team require cordless handsets to maintain connectivity while moving around the office?
- Call Volume & Management: Does your practice manage high call volumes? Do you expect to manage several active holds simultaneously?
Desk Phones
All Yealink VoIP phones support ethernet, and we typically recommend that you use ethernet, if available. It will provide the best call quality and the most reliable connection. It also helps our support team troubleshoot more easily. However if you don't have ethernet available, many models support WiFi as an alternative.

Cordless Phones
For cordless phones, you must use the Yealink W70B base station. This requires an ethernet connection and has a range of approximately 150ft in ideal conditions. If you have a large office, handsets can be linked to multiple base stations for seamless handoff. Each base station supports a maximum of 10 wireless handsets and 20 simultaneous calls.

Common Example Scenarios
To assist with your selection, we have outlined several common practice profiles below. If a scenario aligns with your specific operational needs, we recommend the corresponding hardware configuration to ensure optimal performance:
-
Scenario #1: We have a receptionist at the front desk who needs to answer calls, transfer calls, and sometimes place them on hold.
- T31G if you have ethernet and don't field many simultaneous calls
- T44W if you need WiFi and/or have high call volume
-
Scenario #2: We have a back office or break room
- T31G or T44W depending on ethernet availability
-
Scenario #3: Our providers like to have phones in the exam room, but we don't need a phone in every room all the time.
- W73P plus additional W73H as needed
-
Scenario #4: Our teammates operate remotely (practitioners or VAs)
- T44W, as most homes do not have ethernet throughout
