Introduction to Filtering and Sorting Conversations
Filtering and sorting are useful ways to prioritize and organize your messages in Spruce. You can filter and sort any Conversation Filter under the Inbox section, any Team conversation under the Teams section, or any Pages filter under the Pages section. Read more about Conversation Filters.
Filtering and sorting are individual actions, meaning any changes you make will only affect your own view of the conversations, not those of your teammates on Spruce.
Please note: Filtering and sorting options are currently only available on the web version of Spruce.
Sort Options
Newest First
Sorts the selected Conversation Filter by the message with the newest activity at the top. All thread activity is counted, including external messages, messages sent by teammates, internal notes, and system messages.
Oldest First
Sorts the selected Conversation Filter by the message with the oldest activity at the top. All activity is counted, including external messages, messages sent by teammates, internal notes, and system messages.
Unarchived Time
Sorts the selected Conversation Filter by the oldest message at the top based on when the message was unarchived. If a message has never been unarchived (for example, new messages), the creation timestamp is used instead.
This is useful for responding to messages based on the order in which they are received because if a patient sends multiple messages, their position in the inbox will not change.
Note: To effectively utilize the Unarchived Time sort option, we recommend archiving messages once you respond to them. Read more about archiving.
Filter Options
All
Displays all messages in the selected Conversation Filter.
Unread
Displays only unread messages in the selected Conversation Filter. Note: Marking a conversation as read or unread only affects the state of your inbox, not that of your teammates. Read more about marking conversations as read and unread.
